Some are taken apart and redone for aesthetic value. Some are quilted “as is”. Her collection of “Forgotten Treasures” was displayed at the PA National Quilt Extravaganza in 2024. I expect they will take your breath away. She is a member of The York Quilters’ Guild. In 2007\, her quilt\, Bella\, was the top winner in the $100\,000 Quilting Challenge and was featured on NBC’s “Today” show. Bella was whole-cloth quilt\, not pieced together\, so the design comes entirely from quilting. DESCRIPTION:Meeting Agenda\n5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.  Pre-meeting:\nArrive early if you like\, to sit and sew with friends or spend time socializing. \n6:30 p.m. – Program:\nMember Led Workstations:\nLearn something new from your fellow guild members.  Visit every station for a variety of new skills.\n\n\n\n“Bowl Cozies”– Melody DeGrazio\nMelody DeGrazio is one of most generous quilters in our guild. She will share with you how to make bowl cozies. As she has said “I can do them in my sleep”. For our new members\, Melody always can share a positive outlook and a smile. \n \n“How to Finish a Pillow with a Zipper”– Alice Steele\nAlice is known for her love of bright\, happy colors\, much like her charismatic personality. For our new members\, “her work”\, is what we all want to level up too. \n\n“Paper Piecing”– Sherry Burkins\nSherry is known for being extremely precise. Sherry participates in craft shows\, selling her bench pillows and other wonderfully done items. For our new member’s\, take a close look at Sherry’s beautiful work. Sherry is a very strong resource for quilting questions on techniques. \n\n“Slow Stitching”– Kathleen Kellar\nKathleen is always working on something unique and interesting. She also belongs to zoom groups that focus on hand work. For our new members\, Kathleen is known for her “tips” to help along your quilting journey. \n\n“Easy Flying Geese”– Sue Hannah\nBrought back by popular demand\, Sue’s technique for flying geese will save you tons of time. Sue headed our “workshops” in the past. For our new members\, Sue is always friendly\, helpful and fun to laugh with. \n\n\n\nAround 7:45 p.m. – Business Meeting\nAround 8:15 p.m. – Show & Tell:\nEvery meeting features a “Show & Tell” time. Bring your finished quilts to display\, with the opportunity to show and talk about it to the guild. We LOVE seeing quilts and especially enjoy the stories that go with the quilts!

SUMMARY:Sew Sisters Sewing Bee
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our monthly Sew Sisters sewing bee.  There is no cost\, and it’s open to anyone. You do not need to be a guild member to attend. Join us\, and bring a friend! \nBring your own project\, materials and equipment (such as your sewing machine if you need it for your project\, or whatever else you might need) to sit and sew on whatever project you like.  Extension cords\, ironing boards and irons are already there and available for you to use. Everyone works independently on their own projects and gets to socialize and have fun doing it together! \nBring your lunch. A refrigerator is available to store it. We meet at the Delta Senior Center from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. the last Saturday of every month January through October (no meeting in November or December).  In case of inclement weather or for questions\, call Ann Booze at 717-456-5653.

SUMMARY:Sit & Sew at the Firehouse
DESCRIPTION:Join Us for Sewing With the Peeps at the Firehouse! \nThis activity is for guild members who want to get together and spend their day sewing! \nDarlene Vocke has reserved the Norrisville Firehouse for one Friday a month during most months in 2025. The schedule varies (see the full list of dates below). The time will be from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00’ish – or whatever schedule allows. Bring snacks\, lunch\, drink\, and have fun sewing with the group.  There is a refrigerator and microwave available for use. \nPlease feel free to bring whatever you need to sew for the day. The tables would be great to lay a quilt out and pin them on. \nIf you have any questions\, please call Darlene Vocke (her contact information may be found in the member directory on the QOL website. If you don’t have access\, you can inquire at the email address or phone number found at the bottom of the QOL website.) \nHope to see you there. \nCoordinator:  Darlene Vocke \n[INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY]  If either school system is closed or delayed (Harford County Public Schools in MD or South Eastern School District in PA)\, Sit and Sew will be canceled.
