Join us for “Sew Pillowcases for Vets Day” at the Delta Senior Center on March 20, 2017 at 9:30.  Details here.  Or, make pillowcases on your own with the instructions in the link below.

At the November 2016 meeting, Patricia Egger presented a request from the Sew for Vets group at the Delta Senior Center, who are asking for help in a statewide challenge for Veterans. They have been asked by the Veterans Auxiliary of Pennsylvania to make brightly colored pillowcases for the 12 Veterans facilities in Pennsylvania. They want to make 2,500 pillowcases by June 1, 2017.

There are a variety of ways to help:

  1. Provide the fabric
  2. Provide a “kit” by precutting the fabric to the instructions
  3. Make the pillowcases per the instructions
  4. Join them at the Delta Senior Center on the 2nd and 4th Monday after lunch when they work on projects

This is a great way to use up any of your crazy fabric as they want brightly colored pillowcases. They are requesting prewashed 100% cotton. You should avoid red, white and blue colors as their goal is to brighten the usual white institutional color and want to put a smile on the veterans
faces. Anyone who wants to help can contact Mary Banister at 717-456-7215. Or if you can, turn any of your fabric or finished pillowcases to one of
the Quilts of Valor members.

View instructions to construction the pillowcases. Please see Pat Egger if you need assistance.
